Child Mental Health Issues

Your child has been given a DIAGNOSIS! Some parents may feel a little relief, their children’s behavior can no longer be blamed on poor parenting – you’re off the hook.  Some parents feel the stigma of having a “crazy” child. Some parents will torment themselves by visualizing a lifetime of dysfunction and chaos for their child.  Whatever your emotion and whatever the diagnosis, now is the time to find the right help, your child has every chance of becoming a well adjusted and productive adult.  Do not use a diagnosis to explain away your child’s behavior.  Again, do not use a diagnosis to explain away your child's behaviorbehavior.  Your child's behaviors are changeable and malleable.  The benefits of Life Coaching apply to children diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety disorder, depression and a host of other diagnoses.  Also, knowing the diagnosis is beneficial to intervention as we now know what we are dealing with and given the predictability of human behavior an experienced Life Coach will not be seeing the presenting problems for the first time.

A Life Coach is not intended to take the place of any mental health, psychiatric or pharmacological therapies but to compliment them and provide an overall holistic intervention.  If these therapies are necessary but not in place, a Life Coach will assist you in finding the most appropriate therapies for your child.
